Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What are Quantum Grade Diamonds?
Quantum grade diamonds are specially engineered diamonds designed for applications in quantum technology. These diamonds contain a high density of nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centres, which are defects in the diamond lattice that can be used as qubits for quantum computing and quantum sensing.
What are electronic grade Diamonds?
Electronic grade diamonds are high-purity synthetic diamonds specifically engineered for use in advanced electronic applications. These diamonds possess exceptional properties such as high thermal conductivity, low electrical conductivity, and minimal chemical impurities, making them ideal for high-performance electronic devices. Diamonds can be made conductive by doping it with Boron. This opens up many new possibilities.
What does Boron doping do to Diamonds?
We, at Supreme, have controlled the in-situ doping of Boron in the Diamond Substrate. It can be controlled from the range of 10^15 per cm2 up to 10^21 per cm2. Diamond with highly doped boron concentration has metal like conductivity of less than 1 Ohm-cm.
What is the lowest Nitrogen Concentration possible in Diamonds?
The Lowest Nitrogen Concentration that we have achieved is 5 ppb. Such low concentrations are ideal starting material for Quantum Applications. The Nitrogen doping ex-situ requires Purest Diamonds to begin with.
Which Orientations are possible for mechanical & Tribological applications?
In-house Laser and Polishing unit enable us to make bespoke Diamonds. Orientation can be tailored to 100, 110, 111 and any orientation in between. For eg: 112, 113 can also be made upon request with a miscut of Less than 2 Degrees. Our Diamonds have been used by reputed tool and knife manufacturers.
Why Supreme Green Diamonds?
We are Green in true sense. Supreme Green is SCS 007 Sustainability Certified. Supreme Green uses Solar energy for growing 100% of the diamonds it produces. A part of our production also consumes Industrial CO2.
Can the Thermal Conductivity of Diamond be tailored?
Yes, Thermal conductivity of Polycrystalline Diamond wafers can be tailored to suit the application. Even at 1200 W/mk, it would still be three times that of copper. A cost-effective solution for heat sink suffices such a conductivity. Though Diamonds with better quality can be grown to have a conductivity up to 2000 W/mk and more upon request.
